Company: Rudolph and Hellman
Role: Business Management Executive
I work as a Business Management Executive at Rudolph & Hellmann, where I support operations and strategy across the business. My role is incredibly varied – I’m often brought into different locations, sometimes internationally, to help troubleshoot new operations, onboard clients, and improve processes. That can mean anything from analysing performance and documenting procedures to supporting leadership teams and helping shape how we operate.
No two days are ever the same, and that’s something I really enjoy. I work across multiple areas of the business, collaborating with different teams and stakeholders, and focusing on problem-solving, continuous improvement, and making sure our operations run as effectively as possible.
My route into logistics wasn’t a traditional one. I originally trained as a teacher in Poland and Germany and hold a Master’s degree, but when I moved to the UK in 2015, I started as a temporary warehouse operative. From there, I built my career within the business, becoming an Executive Assistant in 2017 and supporting three successive CEOs, before progressing into my current role.
What attracted me to logistics – and what has kept me here – is the variety and opportunity. It’s a fast-moving, global sector where you’re constantly learning. My role gives me independence, challenge, and the chance to make a real impact across the organisation, whether that’s operationally onboarding new clients or implementing processes that influence how the business works.
Over time, I’ve developed a wide range of skills that support what I do today. Problem-solving, adaptability, communication and organisation have all been essential, particularly when working across different environments and managing competing priorities. I’ve also built experience in stakeholder management, data analysis, process improvement, and working under pressure, all of which are key in logistics.
One of the biggest things I’ve learned in my career is that you don’t need to start with all the answers. Much of what I know today has come from experience, being open to learning, taking on new challenges, and building confidence over time.
The best thing about my role is the variety and the opportunity to work across different parts of the business and around the world. It’s a challenging environment, but also incredibly rewarding. I enjoy being able to step into new situations, bring structure to complexity, and help teams succeed.
A key highlight in my career has been my progression from a temporary warehouse role into a senior leadership position within the organisation. I’ve also had the opportunity to support international operations and contribute to high-profile client projects, as well as represent the business at global leadership events. These experiences have broadened my perspective and shown me just how diverse and global logistics really is.
For anyone considering a career in logistics, my message would be simple: be curious, be open, and be willing to grow. There’s no single path into this sector, and that’s what makes it so exciting. Logistics isn’t just about moving goods – it’s about solving problems, connecting people and businesses, and making everyday life work. If you’re willing to learn and take opportunities, it’s a career where you can go further than you might expect.
