National Highways have an excellent opportunity for an Assistant Service Delivery Manager to join our team in the East region. The Assistant Service Delivery Manager will oversee the delivery of maintenance and repair works across the Region, ensuring all activities, whether routine or reactive, meet the required technical, quality and safety standards with a strong focus on customer service.

This role can be based from our Bedford, Cambridge or Ipswich offices or any east region operational depot.

Please note that You will be required to drive as part of your role and you will need to have a full clean driving license to be considered for this position and during employment.

What you’ll be leading on

To manage the delivery of the electrical cyclical and capital works programmes. Including reactive repairs as necessary.
Support Planning and Development electrical colleagues develop and maintain the Lighting Asset Maintenance Plan (LAMP).
To oversee the spend against the allocated budget for the electrical service which includes damage to network property, asset failures and routine maintenance, controlling and approving spend against the budget, in line with agreed approvals and escalation processes[JM1] .
Undertake routine site visits to depot and sites to ensure full contractual compliance.
To proactively manage supplier performance both M&R and wider suppliers to agreed contractual service level agreements, technical, quality and safety standards, including the investigation of breaches of service level targets and service non-availability, with the instigation of remedial activities.
To analyse the root causes for performance issues and work with Service Delivery colleagues and supply chain to develop and implement remedial action plans.

To be Successful

Strong understanding of relevant technical asset policies and strategies
Recognised academic qualification in an engineering discipline, street lighting / electrical experience is desirable.
Understanding of relevant supply chain contracts
Budget, Contract and supply chain management
Proven experience in a fast paced, 24/7 service delivery environment.
Membership of appropriate professional body (MICE or MIHE or MCIHT) – desirable
