This role provides a superb opportunity to be a Senior Delivery Manager leading the delivery of exciting operational and information technology projects that are critical to the future success of National Highways.

You will be working on a variety of projects from inception, business case development, governance and procurement delivery, through to supplier on-boarding, and delivery of project outcomes with a variety of stakeholders and suppliers . You’ll be working in the Service Operations Portfolio as part of a growing team delivering a wide range of projects in operational and information technology.

Looking further ahead, there will be tremendous opportunity to project manage new projects across a variety of areas and become involved in the transformation of the Digital Services team within National Highways.

What you’ll be leading on (7)

Responsible for the delivery of one or more projects within the Service Operations Portfolio.
Working with the Lead Delivery Manager and Portfolio Delivery Manager to develop the working relationships with stakeholders at National Highways and within the supply chain
The development of business cases to define the project requirements, financial models and justification for business approval
Effectively managing activities to ensure high quality project outcomes are achieved on time and within budget
Ensuring all projects you are involved in support the National Highways imperatives of safety, customer and delivery
Planning and tracking the delivery against the project plan, ensuring effective controls and mitigations are implemented to address risks and issues that impact delivery confidence
Responsible for the project financial profile month on month, working with suppliers to provide accurate financial information to the business
To be successful

Solid experience in the delivery of complex Digital/IT Projects and programmes
Experience of writing Outline and Full Business Cases, ideally in line with HMT Green Book Principles
Experience of stakeholder management and collaboration
Experience and ability to digest complex information and communicate across all levels both verbally and in writing (presentations and reports)
Hold a certified accreditation in Project/Programme management
Desirable – Proven experience of successfully navigating of National Highways and / or wider Government Governance and Assurance approvals
Desirable – knowledge or experience of working with operational and/or information technology in transport/public sector environment
