Insight & Evaluation Manager

The Insight and Evaluation Manager will help champion an insight driven, campaigns-based approach to our communications, working to support and evaluate one of our two core campaign pillars (Safer Roads and Roads for Good). You will source, collate and analyse insight to ensure all campaign activity is insight-based, targeting the right audiences and utilising the most appropriate channels to reach its audiences. You will utilise robust evaluation principles to evaluate the impact and outcomes of campaign activity, ensuring that lessons are learnt from previous evaluation rounds to inform future plans. You will also identify emerging reputational risks and opportunities and ensure our paid for campaigns successfully change perceptions or behaviours and constitute a good use of public funds.

What you’ll be leading on

Act as the overall Insight and Evaluation lead for the Campaign Pillar, providing relevant insight and trusted advice to communications colleagues and shaping campaign activity which ultimately influences perceptions and changes behaviour.
Oversee the management and development of several key insight and evaluation tools, including social listening tools, the development of appropriate logic models, and metrics to effectively baseline and measure performance of campaigns.
Lead on the overall evaluation of the Campaign, ensuring activity is comprehensively and consistently evaluated, and acted upon to inform future approaches with a particular focus on our paid for and low cost/no cost marketing activity.
Champion an insight-driven, campaign-based approach, working across the Communications Group to promote and embed best practice on insight and evaluation, advising other specialist teams on how to evaluate their own activity.
Keep up to date with industry best practice, identifying and using the most effective tools and sources of insight to monitor reputation and evaluate campaigns as well as sharing this information across communications teams where applicable.

To be successful you’ll need

Experience of developing and implementing insight and evaluation activities aligned to best practice approaches.
Proven understanding of how to gather, analyse and interpret qualitative and quantitative perceptions data to help baseline and inform evaluations.
Ability to provide comprehensive and robust evaluations for campaigns & Excellent analytical and reporting skills.
Confidence in advising teams on how to best evaluate their own work and when discussing campaign success and lessons learnt to key stakeholders and senior teams.
