At Wincanton, we are currently offering the opportunity for undergraduate students to join us for a valuable industry placement working in one of our many distribution sites across the UK. Our programme Our established Industrial Placement Programme offers great experience and structured development to our students. You will be expected to contribute and have an impact from day one fulfilling “actual roles” within our operation, supported by relevant job-related training. Mentored by an experienced manager, you will have the opportunity to learn about the operations, work on specific projects that will support your learning goals and give you real exposure in the world of logistics. We have multiple Industrial Placement roles including Operations Team Leader, Operations Support, Project Analyst, and more. Once the selection process is finished, we will use the feedback from your assessment centre to match you up to a role where you will thrive the most! Locations:  Doncaster, Rochdale, Blackburn, Stafford, Stoke on Trent, Northampton and Lichfield. Many of our placement students return to Wincanton once they have completed their degree. In return, we require you to be eager to learn, keen to get ahead and be willing to experience different aspects of the business. What we’re looking for from you?

  • You must be in your second year at university on a course which enables you to take an Industrial Placement Year (unfortunately if you are graduated you are not eligible)
  • Full driving licence by September 2024
  • Right to work in the UK
  • The desire to take on real responsibility from day one
  • The drive and ambition to succeed in an exciting and challenging environment
  • A self-starter – who is both curious and enthusiastic
  • Innovative and creative (with high attention to detail and strong analytical skills)
  • Enthusiasm to learn a broad range of skills and technical logistics capabilities over a short period of time

Benefits include a salary of £22,500 per annum, a one off £500 joining bonus, 25 days holiday (+8 days Bank Holiday). These are just some of the reasons that make Wincanton a great place to work. Selection process Our selection process is straight forward. You will be expected to complete an online application and if you meet all our entry criteria a member of our People team will contact you to book a video interview. (Don’t worry this will be with a real person!) If successful, you will be invited to our assessment centre. This will take place virtually on 30th January 2024 and 6th March 2024.
