THE SANTA CLAUSE.

In many ways, Scott is just doing his best in a situation he didn’t have much of a say in. But then he’s also slow to embrace his career change, and occasionally naive to the realities of the job…

#01 DON’T KILL YOUR PREDECESSORS (DO LEARN FROM THEM)

If you can, try not to kill them. You’ll get far more wisdom and learnings from them if you can keep them alive – especially if they’ve been doing the job for years and you are quite new.

#02 DO DOUBLE CHECK YOUR CONTRACTUAL COMMITMENTS

Even though it turns out for the best, Scott does find himself in a contractual bind under the stipulations of the ‘The Santa Clause’ (which he hadn’t fully checked out prior to putting on the suit).

#03 DO BE OPEN TO A NEW CAREER

When you have a special skill set, you should embrace it. Scott is a reluctant career changer and so it takes him a while to see where his professional future lies. When he does and goes for it, it works out.
